I took my first Power Yoga class in 2009 when I was living in Indiana, and like so many I was only motivated by the physical benefits of Yoga. My practice was sporadic for the next several years, popping into a class every couple of months and streaming online videos at home. Life then took a turn and I relocated to North Carolina. Moving away from my home, family, and friends, I began seeking new connections. I started taking classes regularly in Wilmington at several different studios, and fell in love with yoga. On the mat, I felt empowered, and I discovered something new about myself with every class I took. I learned to cultivate practices to center my mind, physically challenge my body, and exercise true self-love. In early 2016, I decided I wanted to take a 200 Hour Teacher Training, and that is when I found Longwave Yoga. After my first class at Longwave, I knew this was the studio I was supposed to enroll with. In December 2016, I graduated the 200HR Yogic Studies and Teacher Training, under the tutelage of Lexi Hawks and Mary Glackmeyer.
Since my training I have found a love for teaching. Yoga has proven to be a vehicle to serve and connect with others while sharing my passion for wellness. When you attend my class, I strive to offer space to “Let Go” and enjoy your journey on the mat. I promise to offer guidance and understanding, always encouraging students to acknowledge their intuition and innate knowledge of their body.
