Justin

Justin began his fitness journey back in 2013 when he decided to put down the McDonald's cheeseburger and pick up an apple and a dumbbell instead. Once weighing in at over 325 pounds, Justin has since transformed his life to a much healthier and wholesome one. After being a body builder for several years, he began to realize that physically he was in more pain than he ought to be, and mentally he was unsatisfied with life. Because of this physical discomfort and mental unease, yoga came into his life.
 
Justin began practicing in late 2016 and immediately fell in love with the practice. Yoga has brought him balance and harmony, peace and tranquility in all aspects of his life. He took a 200-hour teacher training beginning in the summer of 2017 and has since set a goal to be the best yogi and yoga instructor that he can be. Recently, Justin moved to Wilmington from his home in Hollywood, Florida. His only wish in life is to help others to become better versions of themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually.

  • Seaside Yoga | Open - Blockade Runner
  • Take your practice to the ocean this summer in our Seaside Yoga series! Every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00- 9:00am, join us for an all-levels class on Blockade Runner Hotel’s seaside lawn. This class begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day Weekend. Practice under the summer sun, feel the salty air, and enjoy the beach horizon and lush gardens of the Blockade Runner while listening to the breaking waves on the shore. Find your seaside yoga bliss among the coastal wildlife of seabirds and beach bunnies roaming the lawn. 

    **Metered parking is available on the street. To access the lawn, walk through the lobby and toward the ocean. Special event rate: $16. Pre-registration is required.


  • Healthy Bodies | Basic
  • Healthy Bodies focuses on the exploration of basic poses and therapeutic benefits of a yoga practice without the vigorous element of other forms of yoga. This class encourages an individualized approach with the use of blankets, bolsters, chairs, and straps. Because of its personalized and nurturing nature, Healthy Bodies is suitable for all practitioners, including elderly and those with disability or who are recovering from injury. Students in this class can expect to experience a well-rounded practice that cultivates strength, stability, flexibility, and mindful breathing utilizing a therapeutic approach to both dynamic postures and restorative postures, while still having time for questions.

  • Slow Flow | Open
  • Slow Flow is a Vinyasa based practice that helps students develop awareness of the yogic breath while synchronizing movement. This class offers a slower pace which is nice for new students to take time in learning the poses and alignment, and offers advanced students time to explore variations. Slow flow helps to build deep transformational heat within the body while working strength and flexibility. One will leave feeling centered, calm, and connected. 

  • Vinyasa l Open
  • Vinyasa classes mindfully unite intention, breath, and movement. This class will offer a well-rounded practice that includes meditation, pranayama, sun salutations, and fluid movement between postures. All levels are welcome, as there will be modifications, specific alignment cues, and options offered throughout class. It is recommended that brand new yogis partake in beginner or basic classes before joining an open-level class.

  • Beginner Yoga | Basic
  • Beginner Yoga introduces the families of asana (poses) with emphasis on alignment. This class is playful, conversational, and supportive, while allowing the practitioner to cultivate a strong connection to the mind, body, and breath. Beginner Yoga is appropriate for brand new yogis, those who have injuries, or practitioners who wish to gain a deeper understanding of alignment.

  • Warm Vinyasa l Open
  • Vinyasa classes mindfully unite intention, breath, and movement. This class will offer a well-rounded practice that includes meditation, pranayama, sun salutations, and fluid movement between postures in a 85-90 degree heated room. The flow-like quality of vinyasa yoga guides the mind into a peaceful connected place, while the heat keeps the body supple and flexible. All levels are welcome, as there will be modifications, specific alignment cues, and options offered throughout class. It is recommended that brand new yogis partake in beginner or basic classes before joining an open-level class.

  • Warm Hour of Power | Open
  • This one-hour class is for the yogi on the go! Hour or Power is a powerful and playful style of yoga that links movement and breath. This class focuses on strength, balance, core, intervals, and stretching. You will leave feeling energized and a little sweaty! The room will be heated, 85-95 degrees, keeping the body supple and promoting flexibility as it boosts the cardiovascular system. All ability levels are welcome, as there will be modifications, options and specific alignment cues given throughout the class that appeal to all levels of practitioners. It is highly recommended that brand new yogis partake in the beginner and/or basic level classes before joining an open-level class.
